Men who eat certain types of drugs routinely in the long run a greater risk of experiencing erectile dysfunction than men who drank less than two types of drugs.
In this study, the researchers looked at the risk oferectile dysfunction (ED) in men taking the drugabout 10 species or more per day. After consideringother risk factors for ED, such as age, obesity,diabetes, and smoking habits, it is known that the influence of drugs remains high.
Therefore, doctors recommended that themedication given to patients who suffer fromimpotence to re-evaluate, even if it is possible to reduce them. In addition, some situations the healthy lifestyle changes like diet and exercise, replace the function of the drug.
“Sometimes patients are drugs that are not reallynecessary given. If it can be reduced, the patientswho suffer from impotence to help,” said Dr. DianaC. Londono, urologists who perform this study.
Drugs associated with risk of ED are high blood pressure medication such as beta-blockers andthiazides, drugs used to treat depression andanxiety, as well as other drugs that interfere with testosterone.
“We do not know how these drugs erectile problems worse. There may be interactions between drugs that have little effect on the ability of the effecterection, but it is not written in the label of the drug,”Londono said.
